The first book I'd like to share with you is Jack and Jill by Louisa May Alcott. Curiously, it seems that most people have never heard of this book. Miss Alcott obviously borrowed from the children's poem.
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown
And Jill came tumbling after.
The creative way in which Miss Alcott based her story shows a great deal of ingenuity. In the beginning, Jack and Jill are found sledding with some of their friends. The inevitable happens and sends the friends to long-term recovery.
I have always loved this book. I've read it many, many times. In my humble opinion, this is one of the best books ever written by Louisa May Alcott. I will be introducing more orphans and other stars in the near future. Characters in books have done much to help form my personality. I am so thankful for the opportunity of knowing how to read. I cannot imagine a life with books.
Until the next time, keep a hug on.
