Traveling Through Life On His Head

I like kids. Do you like kids? Don't you just love the way they can go into a group of other children and, just as natural as you please, start talking? Gone are the inhibitions that they'll develop later on. Oh, yeah. You know the ones; too shy to speak, worry that someone might think this or that, does my shirt have milk on it?

I wonder why it is that we learn those fears as we grow older? I've pondered this subject quite a bit, actually and I think it just may have something to do with the years of trying to find our places in life. It seems that at about fifth grade, things begin to change. At least, that's about when they started changing for me.

Maybe everyone has a nemesis in their lives, just like that girl I told you about yesterday?  I hope not, but there must be some reason why so many of us begin to shrink inside ourselves.

I have one grandie who is a true and natural comic.  You never know what he's gonna' come up with.  The other day, he sort of tumbled down the stairs and when he reached the bottom, he just bounced up and grinned sheepishly, saying, "I wasn't watching where I was going!"

Another time, while playing air-shooting with Mama and big brother, he suddenly announced that he had been shot in the bum.  One of his most interesting habits, in my opinion, is spending most of his time on his head.  Yep!  He watches TV on his head, visits with others while on his head and does way more things on his head than a lot of people can do in an upright position.

He also has a funny little habit of going up the stairs doing somersaults.  You heard me right.  He goes UP the stairs that way.  I used to hang upside-down a lot when I was growing up.  Maybe I affected him, even before he was a thought in Mama or Daddy's minds?  At any rate, he makes it look like so much fun that I even wanna' play.  I hate to tell you what the results of THAT would be.  *sigh*

Oh, to be a child, again.  Until the next time, keep a hug on.

A Little This And Little That

For the last little while, I've been way too busy.  There have been deadlines and updates and all kinds of things to do and I haven't had much chance to blog.  More than that, I haven't been able to do much in the way of commenting on any of your blogs.  I'm really sorry about that.  I love going to your blogs and reading what you've been up to.

Last night, I started moving furniture around.  It was great fun; always is.  Just knowing that my new look is gonna' brighten up the room always makes me wanna' hurry.  Do you feel that way when you rearrange a room?  Do you imagine, ahead of time, how lovely everything will be?  I used to have a friend who would suddenly start shifting everything around and, just as suddenly, she would stop.  She never seemed to plan ahead and there was no rhyme or reason in the way she worked; just suddenly started and suddenly stopped.  When she stopped, though, it was as if everything quickly fell into place; even the dust bunnies knew where they belonged to best enhance the room.

When you come to visit, I do hope you know that, though I don't always get to read my comments immediately, I do always read them.  I enjoy your visits so much and, in case you don't know, I send a virtual hug to each and every one of you.  Thank you so much.

Lynette at Crazed Mind made some very nice comments and I'd like to say thank you.  Thank you, Lynette.

I was also blessed with a Virtual Easter Basket from Debby at Just Breathe.  I'm afraid I don't entirely understand how the Virtual Easter Basket works, but I do wanna' help The Children's Miracle Network and Hershey's is donating $10 for each blog that links to them (I think).  Please help by going to Debby's blog and reading up on the rules, then linking up.  I'd love it if each of you would take a basket and share.  Thank you for your help.

I'm gonna' try to get back into posting more often.  Oh, yeah.  And I almost forgot to tell you about the fun, fun site that has some of the puzzles I created.  Its at scriptures4kids.com.  When you get there, go to the bottom of the page and click on About Us.  Next, look to the left and you'll see several places where you can go on the site.  Choose Conference Packet.  When you get to that page, you will have several choices, so just have fun.  It would really be great if you could become a fan of the site, too.  Thanks for looking.

Until the next time, keep a hug on.

Answers to the Word Search

Were you able to find all the words from the word search, last night?  I do have fun creating them.  Its nice to know that someone enjoys working them, as well.  And how about last week's puzzle?  Did you take the challenge to do the puzzle without the word list?  I did and was quite surprised at the outcome, really.  I found 105 words, without once looking at the list, nor using any of the words that were on it.  After I go over and post the answers to the other two puzzles on my other blogs, I'll be back to update this one with a list of  the words I found in this puzzle.  I think you'll be surprised, too.  I'll see you soon.
     Keep a hug on.

Yaya

Well, how'dya' do?  Here are the words I found beyond the word list.  You should try it that way.  Its actually a ot of fun and makes you think.  Same challenge for next week?  Okie-dokie, then.  Now, I'm headed back to bed.  This flu is still not fun.

Seen you next time.  Keep two hugs on.

Happiness Is A Four-Letter Word

If there is never another time in my life that I am this happy, let this happiness carry me until I am too old to worry about it. Being in a new home with new surroundings is, as they say, good for the cleansing of the soul. Or, maybe that's something else that's good for the cleansing of the soul, but all of my insides are feeling "Spic and Span," these days. I could've never imagined that somewhere in my world, there would be a beautiful two-story home on a small piece of acreage that was waiting for ME to move into it. And do I hear the sound of 'Love' reverberating through the walls? They say that you are what you eat. Well, I can't help but wonder if that somehow works with houses, too. After all, you open the door and the house swallows you, whole. Depending on what kind of dinner you are (spicy, bland or seasoned just right), you may just find that you wish you had been flavored just a little differently.
Don't believe me? How about this? Have you ever noticed the homes of very excitable people? Quite often, chaos ensues throughout the home. Not always, but I tend to believe that a calm nature invites calm results. And if calm invites calm, doesn't it stand to reason that excitability would invite excitability? Naturally, that can be taken one step further, at least, to my way of thinking. Harsh, angry words that are habitually thrown from one person to another will cause the house to shudder and fear for its very safety. On the other hand, people who treat their homes and family members with love and respect seem to have homes and families who embrace them with love and respect.
Perhaps you could call me the "House Whisperer." I dunno'. I just have always felt that what goes around, comes around and I think that extends far beyond the boundaries of people treating other people kindly or poorly.
In fact, if you'll take the time to watch, you may notice that animals react pretty much as their owners do. Show me a person who yells and carries-on about insignificant details and I'll show you their pet who reacts angrily or 'cowers' from the hand that might 'pet' him, fearful that the hand may bring an onslaught of attack. much the same way. Want your little dog to quit snapping at you for the slightest infraction? Start noticing where your little dog is learning it. Of course, there are always exceptions to every rule, but for the most part, anger begets anger and kindness begets kindness.
So, the next time you go to cuss that wall for the crooked nail you just pounded, consider how the wall must feel. Maybe a little sweet-talking wouldn't be too far-fetched to include in your updates. It just might help the remodeling to go a little smoother, ya' think?
