Do you recall my excitement awhile back when I had the opportunity to visit with Agent Mark McVeigh? As a writer, there are some situations that invite minor self-indulgence and I believe I fulfilled my part in this particular moment. I only hope my dignity didn't suffer, too much, in the wake of so much excitement.
Before establishing The McVeigh Agency, Mark was an editorial director at Simon & Schuster's Children's Publishing Division for eleven years. Previous to that, he spent several years learning first-hand what young people like; as a sixth grade teacher.
Several of Mark's followers were given the opportunity to visit with him through a Skype call. Imagine my surprise and obvious pleasure at being among those lucky few. Considering the many varied and creative assignments he has filled, giving him first-hand knowledge into the writer's world, this was a substantial gesture. Naturally, I was prepared with many questions, knowing that I may never get to learn from such an experienced master, again.
As an added bonus, Mark hosted a Webinar, which I was also invited to attend. We learned even more pearls of wisdom, during that excellent webinar. In fact, contrary to popular belief, I now know it is not wise to have friends and family critique my work. That is, unless they happen to be as practiced as Mark McVeigh. I don't know about you, but most people I know do not have the skill it takes to critique work for publication.
If you'd like to know how you can also attend one of Mark's superior webinars, please contact me and I'll be more than happy to give you the information you need. You can be sure that if publication is your goal, Mark McVeigh can show you the way to achieve it.
Until the next time, keep a hug on.

Just wanted to let you know I stopped by after reading your recent blogfrog post on adoption. My husband and I are in the process of adopting and I was touched by your story. Thanks for sharing!
Mark is a generous, intelligent man. So nice of him to share his expertise with us!
Yaya, I'm glad that we got to meet, even if only in cyberspace, via Mark's webinar, along with learning a lot about the publishing world!
I think it's pretty cool that you've gotten to meet people like Mark.
It was so generous of Mark to spend his time Skyping and webinaring with us aspiring writers! I've learned so much from him. :)
How exciting for you. Sounds like a great experience.
