Look What I Can Do!

Hey, Lookie!  Did you see what I did?  I have all kindsa' new things goin' on.  Look up there.  No, no; not there.  Over there, on the left.  See it?  Jus' under my photo; the one of me in the Little Red Wagon.  See it, now?  It looks like this:

Orphans and Other Stars

Hmmmm; that din't turn out just right.  Those are the right words, but up above, they're all on the same line an' without the dots.  Maybe you can find 'em if you look for alla' those words on the same line an' pretend the dots aren't there, ya' think?  Are ya' lookin'?

Heh-heh; the dots don't show up on the Preview Page, so they might not show up on the finished page.  That's okay.  If they don't show up, you won't hafta' pretend they aren't there, right?

YES!  You found it!  Now, jus' click on each of those words or groups of words an' you can start to find some more Yaya places.  How cool is that?  I am excited that I was finally able to make those extra pages work correctly.  It sure wasn't easy, but my friend, Nicole, over at My Mad World helped me get it figured out.  My friend, Gramma' Lowe, also helped me.  You might wanna' check out their homes on the web.  I am so thankful for nice people who are helpful.

I'll be adding some more pages as soon as I can.  I hope you like the new pages I've added.  I was able to put pictures an' all kindsa' stuff on my new pages.  Check 'em out.

Thanks for stoppin by an' 'til the next time, keep a hug on.

C'mere! Lemme' Show You

Hmmmm.  Was it something I said?  Maybe, I said it wrong?  Okay, I'm gonna' try this again, only this time, I'm gonna' stand on my head while typing.  This is gonna' be tricky, but bear... with... me; I think I can accomplish it... if... only... I... can... balance... wait a minute... There!  I'm standing on my head and now, I'm gonna' start typing.  Please ignore any typos.  There may also be strange thoughts that come creeping into the conversation; ignore those, too, k?  I can already feel the blood... rushing... to my brain and I think my brain has shaken loose and is floating up to my feet.  So... dizzy...

THUNK!!!  Yeesh!  Do not try this at home.  I had to pick myself up off the floor and check for bruises.  Hopefully, my brain (such as it is) has floated back up to my head; I actually think it works much better in its Home in the Head.

So, where was I?  Oh, yeah; I was wonderin' if I had messed up in the way I told you about my awesomely wonderful good news.  Since I only got two responses (thank you very much, Kristi and Sharon), I begin to think that I said it wrong.  I'm gonna' try this again, k?

I'M AN EDITOR!!!  I am an Editor!  I'm a real, live EDITOR.  Can you believe it?  Yeah; me ,neither.  Come on; I'll show you the site.  It's soooooo coool and I can't believe they're letting ME be a part of their project, but I sure am glad they are.

Oops!  I forgot to put Go-Power in the Little Red Wagon.  There; I fixed it.  Okay, make yourself comfortable.  We're gonna' fly on over there and look all around the site.  Ready for take-off?  Don't forget to buckle up.  Oh, yeah.  And I've loaded up your favorite snacks and drinks, so relax, enjoy and let's Flyyyyyyy!

Looky!  Looky!  We're almost there.  Aaaaaaannd... did you feel that?  The Little Red Wagon is magical.  Did you notice when we all shrank down so we could fly inside the website?  Yeah.  We're all really tiny, now.  That's so's no one on the website will notice whilst we fly around wherever we wanna' go.

Oh, look over there!  That's the Game Room.  There are some fun games to play in there.  And we're coming to the Coloring Pages.  Don't they have some awesome coloring pages?  I just love 'em.

Be sure to keep your hands and feet inside the wagon; just like when you ride in a train.  I think we're gonna' pause here and listen to some of the music in the Music Room.  I really like the juke box; don't you?  And the music is sooooo sooooothing.

Next, I'd like to show you where you can download some fun activities.  I'm gonna' tell you a secret, here.  There are some really fun things to do in the Activity Room.  I know on accounta' some of the activities are puzzles that I've created.

     Also, just in case you haven't noticed, one of MY recipes is in there.  Yeah!  You're surprised, aren't you?  You didn't know I was a Great Chef, did you?  Well you just go in there and look for the recipe called Bubble Juice and you're gonna' be surprised at how totally talented I am.  {I sure hope no one finds out that one of my grandies was the inventor of the Bubble Juice recipe}

Oh, yeah, and I almost forgot to tell you I even have summa' my poetry published on this site.  Did I remember to tell you the name of the website?  Its called Scriptures 4 Kids.  And the site is sooooo Cool Beans.

Oh, oh.  Look at the time.  I'm afraid we're gonna' hafta' get on back to Yaya's Home.  I hope you've enjoyed this tour and your flight in the Little Red Wagon.  I've sure enjoyed showing you around.

Be careful as you exit and until the next time, keep a hug on.

There's A Reason For That Cheesy Grin

Lookie... lookie up there.  You see that picture of the little red-haired girl in the Little Red Wagon at the top of this page?  That's me.  You see how she is trying to smile, but her mouth is closed?  That's on accounta' her teeth are hurtin'... still.  She's trying very hard to pretend it is not bothering her, but the Tooth Gremlins are working night and day to create as much havoc as possible.  So, Yaya sits in her Little Red Wagon, grinning and bearing it.  grrrrr

On the UP-side, I am getting a little better each day... I think.  Its a funny thing about pain and misery, though.  After you reach a certain point, there seems to be nothing left to compare it to.  Soooooo, my good hubby-buddy (bless his heart) gets to be on the receiving end of my moans and groans.  He very pleasantly takes it all in stride... and takes SUCH good care of me.  I am soooo blessed..

This too shall pass, though.  As I used to tell my little kiddo's, "In 1,000 years, we'll be able to look back on this moment and laugh."  Ah, but time passes oh, so slowly when you're watching water boil.  *grin*

And how have you all been?  I'm so sorry I haven't been 'round to visit much.  I do think about you and appreciate it so when you come to see me.  Your comments and prayers are extremely helpful.  Hopefully, I'll be back on track before long and we can do some more visiting over the backyard fence or over a cuppa' hot cocoa.  Thanks for your prayers and kind thoughts.

Until the next time, keep a hug on.

What IS That, Anyway?

I've been gone from Bloggy World for a few days.  As a dedicated writer, I find myself happily faced with deadlines and new venues for writing.  Blogging has become one of my very favorite activities and I thank my Heavenly Father, every single day, for this new way of meeting and making friends with so many wonderful people.

I'd like to introduce you to the world that bloglandia has become to me.  Picture, if you can, a quiet, sort of quiet, not entirely quiet, shy, slightly outspoken, rather talkative author and cruciverbalist, sitting home with her good hubby-buddy, writing stories that might be read by as many as twenty, twelve, one person.

There she was, whiling away her life, with no one to visit and no one to talk to, except Hubby-Buddy, who didn't really talk all that much.  So, she wrote stories and dabbled in cruciverbalist games.

What?  What's that you're asking?  What's a cruciverbalist?  You don't know what a cruciverbalist is?  Have you been here before?  Unh, huh.  So, this is your first time here?  Oh.  Well, then I guess you haven't heard me tell about what I do, have you?  Have a seat, there, why don'tcha'?

You see, I am an author.  I have always thought of myself as an author...

What?  You can't tell that I'm an author from my writing?  You don't think I'm a real author?  What do you do?  You're an astronaut?  Unh, huh.  You're an astronaut.  You're not wearing one-uh those funny little suitsWhy should I think you're an astronaut?  Just fly in from space, did you?

Just take my word for it; I'm an author.  I was published in the family newsletter, I'll have you knowThat means I've been published, so I'm an author, thank you very much.  You just haven't been reading my work long enough to recognize my writing or you would know that I'm an author.  You still wanna' know what a cruciverbalist is?  You do?  Okay, then, no more interruptions.

You ever read the Sunday Paper and do the crossword puzzle?  How about a word search puzzle?  You like doing them?  There are lots and lots of different kinds of word puzzles and that's where a cruciverbalist comes in.  See, the person who creates word puzzles or does them a lot is called a cruciverbalist.  And that's what I do; create word puzzles.

What?  You haven't seen any evidence that I'm a cruciverbalist, either?  You will, you will.  In fact, if you come back, I'll show you where you can see several of my puzzles.  If you keep cutting in, though, I might not tell ya'.

Now, where was I?  Oh, yeah; the beautiful place that is Bloglandia.  Let's see, now.  How do I explain this so you get the real picture?  hmmmmm.  Oh, here ya' go:

Once upon a time, a girl with red hair, riding in a Little Red Wagon, loved to play in her back yard.  Her very favorite thing to do was to play in her sandbox.  She played with cars and trucks.  She played with shovels and scoops.  Sometimes, she even pretended to take her dolly to the beach in her sandbox.  She had heard that the beach was a marvelous and magical place to visit, but never having been to a beach, the little girl with red-hair could only imagine how wonderful it must be.

One day, the little red-haired girl was invited to a party at the beach.  She was told to bring a towel and to wear her bathing suit.  When she finally arrived, she was so surprised that she almost couldn't breathe.  The beach was more wonderful than anything she had ever imagined.  No matter which direction she looked, the sandbox went on forever.  There were people building castles and some who were digging holes; BIG holes.  Some people were running up and down the beach and others were playing in the water.  The little girl with red-hair vowed that she could never feel this much happiness again, in her entire life.

Many years later, after writing yet one more story for an audience of twelve, one, she stumbled onto a brand new world on the internet; Bloggy World.  Upon entering Bloglandia, the little girl with red-hair was filled with joy such as she had not felt since that first visit to the beach.

With a blog, the girl with red-hair could write every single day, if she wanted to.  And not only did no one try to stop her, but some people actually came to visit and read what she had written.  In case you haven't figured out the end of the story, here it is:

The girl with red hair, riding in the Little Red Wagon began going to Bloglandia nearly every day to write and she lived happily, ever after.

And that's how I feel about finding Bloglandia.  Until the next time, keep a hug on.

Flying and writing and dancing

::Yaya dances merrily, 'round and 'round, finding it difficult to sit still with so much excitement in her life::

I LOVE being a writer!  Don't you just LOVE being a writer?  You can be who you want to be {I enjoy being short people, under four feet tall, myself}, do what you want to do {do you have any idea how much candy can be consumed without ever gaining an ounce?} and go where you want to go {I'm working on three different novels, at the moment and each one has allowed me freedom like you would not BELIEVE!}.  Yup!  This whole writing world is just FILLED with Wonder and Awe.

Wanna' know what I did today?  C'mon!  I'll show you...

Please, everyone, take a seat in the Little Red Wagon and make yourselves comfy.  There's plenty of room, so be sure to introduce yourself to your neighbor and let's all get better acquainted.  Now, is everybody ready?  By the way, don't you just adoooore my Little Red Wagon?  I borrowed it from my other blog, Red Wagon Flights, so no one would be left behind.

Oh, hello, there.  I see you brought your little furry children.  I'm so glad.  There are seats so they can also look out the windows while we fly.  And don't forget the snacks.  This is a very magical Little Red Wagon.  It expands to hold as many people as would like to come along and the snacks just magically appear when you want them; hot or cold, it makes no difference.

Now, since this is already becoming rather a long post, I'm going to schedule the rest of the trip for tomorrow.  You are gonna' LOVE the flight, believe me.  We will be doing Whirly-Floops and Back-Sassy Bounces, among other things, so I truly hope you'll stay in the Little Red Wagon for tomorrow's flight, too.

Until we are airborne tomorrow, keep a hug on.

Usually, I try not to post in one of my blogs about the other one, but I did find some interesting information that I would love to share with you.  In lieu of a full post here, I have chosen to link to something that I shared at Red Wagon Flights.  I hope that you will take the time to cruise on over there and check it out.

I always love it when you come to visit and hope you know that I am ready to sit down with you and chat.  Thank you so much for all of your support and kindness.  My life is better by knowing you.
