     I am so excited 'bout this year's holiday season. Unlike previous years, I have so many ways to prepare and every single one of 'em is somethin' I can hardly wait to get started on. Biltmore Estate For Game Time Saturday

     Happy Saturday!  'Course, I'm saying this at the end of the day, but I truly hope your Saturday was a good one.  I have visions of life being all Sunshine and Roses for each of you, so it would just be lovely if you were to tell me that is exactly what your life is like.  If that does not happen to be how things are going, please accept a special hug from me and I hope it helps.

     I'd like to give you a little information concerning today's game for Saturday Game Time.  Another blogger, Ramblin' Southern Woman, mentioned in a comment that her favorite place on Earth was The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.  Many, many pictures on her blog.  Well, being the nosy curious creature that I am, I had to learn more, as I had never heard of The Biltmore Estate.  I know, right?  Where have I been all my life?

     Have You Ever Been There?!?  Unbelievable!  I am sooooo in love with that place and I am ready, willing and quite anxious to move in.  Wanna' see it?  Lookie here!  And there are more places where you can learn even more about it.

     So, here is a word search, using just a few of the words I gathered from the home I'd like to live in.  You are welcome to print these puzzles out to play and I hope you enjoy them.  I post the answers, tomorrow.

Game Time Saturday #2

     You thought I forgot, didn't you?  Nope!  I didn't forget to post a game for Game Time Saturday.  My hours of posting tend to be much later in the evening than most of you, I think.  Besides, (and don't tell anyone else), I couldn't remember how I managed to upload my game last week.  I do hope you understand.  And without further ado, I'll post a different kind of game for you.  Hope you like it.    

On the third day of Christmas

     What a wonderful tool the internet is!  Did you know that you can go online and find numerous pictures to print and color, as well as word games, stories and poetry?  Of course, you don't want to take anything that has copywrite limitations, but so many online sites allow for printing and coloring or playing later.  Here's one site that allows you to print for later:  ABC Teach.  Another is here:  http://printables.caboose.com/.

     My grandies love it when I personalize a booklet of games and coloring pages for them.  Choose the games and coloring pages you want to use and print them out.  Next, print a cover page for your booklet, using card stock and cut to the desired size.  Then, having printed and cut each of the activity pages to the size you desire, paste or sew the pages together and giftwrap. If you have a little extra change lying around, buy the smallest package of crayons or colored pencils you can find and you're all set.  Oh, in case you wonder why you have chosen the smallest box of crayons, I'll tell you.  There's a certain magic that goes with the smallest boxes; magic that simply is not included with the larger boxes.  Besides, with fewer crayons, there are fewer demands for decision-making and more time for imagination.

Game Time Saturday

     Game time!  Now, let's see if I can do this.  Below is a Christmas Word Search.  Looking backwards, forwards, up, down and diagonally, circle the words from the Word List.  I don't know, yet, how to make this game playable online, but if you copy/paste it into your Word document, you should be able to play it on a printout.  If not, come back next Saturday and we'll try again.  In fact, I will try to grow in my ability to upload games every Saturday, so I hope you'll come back each week to watch my progress.

Do you know where your Cruciverbalist is?

I don't know if you've ever heard the word, Cruciverbalist, but I heard it from Paul Harvey.  Remember Paul Harvey?  "Hello, Americans.  This is Paul Harvey.  Stand by for Nnneeeews!"
Well, one day Paul was sharing on one of his Rest of the Story programs and I was surprised to discover that it directly related to me.  In fact, I was further amazed to learn that I was in company with a whole variety of personalities.  Some of those people included actors/actresses, pharmacists, housekeepers, doctors, tailors, plumbers, fishermen and even children.
Further, my new knowledge even allowed that I had a title, something I had not been aware of, even though I had been practicing my craft for years.  Now, if you have guessed that my title is Cruciverbalist, you are entirely correct.  But does knowing my title help you to know what I do?  No?  Well, basically, I break words into pieces and create games out of them.  In other words, I make word games that other people play and, hopefully, enjoy.
Do you like to do crosswords or word search puzzles?  Those are only two of the types of puzzles that I create.  There are many different kinds of word puzzles and I like to dabble in a variety of them.
If you do crossword puzzles, have you ever considered what kind of person might have made that puzzle?  Next time you lift your pencil to solve a crossword or other word puzzle, think about who may have created that game.  And by the way, do you know what your neighbor does in his/her spare time?  Think about it.  You just may be surprised.
